Postdoctoral Researcher (m/f/d)
Full time. Fixed-term for four years for the purpose of further academic qualification in accordance with Section 2 (1) of the German Academic Fixed-Term Contract Act (WissZeitVG). Salary according to pay grade E13 of the collective agreement for the public service of the state of Hesse (TV-H).
The position is based in Frankfurt am Main.
The Developmental Dynamics research unit, led by Prof. Schmiedek, investigates fluctuations in cognitive performance and socio-emotional experiences in everyday (school)life. Ambulatory assessment and experience sampling methods are primarily used for this purpose. The aim is to better understand the role of intra-individual dynamics in academic achievement, learning, and well-being.
Your Responsibilities
- Conceptualization, planning, implementation, and analysis of empirical studies on intra-individual fluctuations in cognitive performance and/or socio-emotional experiences among children and adolescents using ambulatory assessment methods
- Acquisition of third-party funding and independent management of research projects
- Publication of research findings in international journals and presentation at scientific conferences
- Contribution to ongoing projects within the research group
- Opportunities for teaching and habilitation are available
Requirements
- PhD in psychology completed with above-average distinction
- Relevant research experience in investigating intra-individual variability of cognitive, motivational, or socio-emotional processes, as well as short- and long-term developmental processes
- Strong expertise in the analysis of intensive longitudinal data (e.g., multilevel models)
- Experience in designing and conducting empirical studies, particularly using experience sampling or ambulatory assessment methods
- Excellent command of written and spoken English
We expect the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with additional research areas. Personal commitment and excellent communication skills are essential.
