in the Cluster of Excellence “Center for Chiral Electronics”
to be filled on the basis of pay grade 13 TV-L (100 %).
CCE is an alliance of leading research institutions based in Halle, Berlin and Regensburg, Germany. CCE explores chirality as a key resource for next-generation electronic technologies. The fundamental research focuses on understanding and controlling chiral phenomena at the atomic length and ultrafast time scale, bridging physics, chemistry, and materials science. Work tasks:
- Fabrication of thin epitaxial layers of chiral B20-class materials using molecular beam epitaxy and single-atom layer deposition
- Characterization of the layers using X-ray diffraction and by measuring optical activity
- Fabrication and measurement of prototype device structures for spin injection
- Data analysis and publication of the scientific results
- Active participation in the events of CCE and strengthening of collaborations
- Opportunity to gain scientific and personal qualifications
Requirements:
- Completed university degree in physics or comparable degree
- Doctorate in physics or a comparable
- In-depth knowledge of solid-state physics
- Proficient in the Python programming
- Excellent communication skills
- High degree of self-motivation
- Very good German and English skills, equivalent to B2
