The Institute of Epidemiology (EPI) is examining the protective and harmful effects of the environment, genes and lifestyle on human health and disease using population-based epidemiologic approaches.
We are seeking a Postdoc / Research Scientist (f/m/x) in diabetes and dementia epidemiology. The desired start date is June 1, 2026, or later.
Your tasks
- Contribute to an international research project on diabetes and dementia
- Organize data harmonization between different cohort studies
- Develop statistical analysis plans
- Analyze data using R and/or Python and contribute to the interpretation of results
- Write scientific reports and papers
- Support administrative tasks and design and planning of future studies
Your profile
- Very good PhD Degree in a relevant field such as (Bio)Statistics, Epidemiology or Bioinformatics
- Very strong analytical and methodological skills, including familiarity with statistical software such as R or Python and experience in machine learning
- Hands-on experience in analysis of large epidemiological datasets including data harmonization preferably within international consortia
- Understanding of biological process and metabolic physiology
- Very good command of English
Desirable qualification
- Previous research experience in the field of diabetes and dementia
If you fulfil all the requirements, you may be eligible for a salary grade of up to E 13. Social benefits are based on the Collective Wage Agreement for Public-Sector Employees (TVöD). The position has an (initial) fixed term of 2.5 years but may be extended under certain circumstances.
