Our international team, led by Prof. Dr. Carmen Gerlach, investigates the diversity within T cell responses to cancer, infections and inflammatory diseases. Understanding how and when T cells diversify to adopt different roles paves the way for influencing T cell fates in the context of immunotherapy. Your tasks:
- Planning and organization of breeding and maintenance of transgenic mouse lines (colony management, genotyping, phenotyping), coordination with animal facility staff
- Support of / conducting animal experiments with mice (blood sampling, standard injection techniques, ending experiments, tissue harvest, and more), including tumor and infection experiments
- Laboratory support: e.g., preparation of solutions, aliquoting, management of laboratory chemicals, molecular biology and cellular work incl. genetic engineering.
- Research organization/equipping the laboratory in connection with the establishment of a new group in Regensburg/move to a new building, e.g., coordination and organization with other research groups, equipment purchase, implementation of procedures, establishment of methods
- Collaboration with and support of PhD students and Postdocs in their experiments. Training of new group members, including students
- Laboratory management, ordering, active contribution to the well-functioning of the local research environment
Your profile:
- Completed training as a technical assistant (w/m/d) - BTA, MTA, CTA, Bachelor or similar
- High level of commitment, reliability, diligence, team spirit, excellent technical skills, interest in scientific research. Ability to work responsibly, independently and collaboratively
- Hands on experience in working with mice, FELASA certification
- Ideally experience in molecular biology incl genetic engineering and culture of primary cells
- Good communication skills in English and ideally also German
- Strong interest in promoting an inspiring and supportive group atmosphere
